General Quick Start Instructions

  1. Protect your investment
Be careful! Dropping your ear receiver on a hard surface or allowing wax to accumulate will damage your equipment. Inserting any object into ear piece other than the IMS custom batteries may cause damage or battery to stick.
  2. Power it up
Carefully open the battery door in the ear piece and place battery into curve; lightly try to shut door inserting battery into the ear. If the door gives resistance, turn battery around for appropriate side. Always use the IMS custom ear batteries. Other brand batteries may stick and break your earpiece.
  3. Soft ear tip
See instructions to put on the soft ear tips. The tips will make the ear bud more secure and comfortable in your ear. They will also give the ear bud a better sound seal.
  4. Try it on
Place the ear piece so the curve points to the rear of your head. Which ear? People are right and left “eared”, so use the ear you are most comfortable.
  5. Volume Control
You can control your volume control by turning the small line indention next to the ear piece door right or left for volume up or down. Use the metal screw loop found on the end of the cleaning brush for adjustments.
  6. Neck loop
Put the induction neck loop around your neck in order to receive sound from recorder to ear bud. Plug adapter cable prongs into neck loop and plug other end into recorder. You may need to adjust and tape the loop inductor in place in order to secure full sound level.
  7. Record the copy
Record a few paragraphs of copy, starting with a countdown to let the recorder adjust to the volume of your voice. Rewind. Plug the neck loop into the “earphone out” jack, turn the volume “off” and began playback. Gradually increase the volume until your comfortable. Always remove the earpiece when recording to protect your hearing.
  8. Listen and repeat recorded script
Practice, practice, practice in front of a mirror.
