Olympus Micro-Cassette Quick Start
A
problem solved
The heart of the IMS “Touch/Pause” System
is the Olympus S725 micro cassette recorder. This rugged
micro cassette voice recorder was tested and proven to
deliver optimum audio quality and volume with the IMS
prompting system. The IMS Touch-pause button was designed
to give Performers more control over their equipment and
performance.
My
recorder doesn’t work…
Once you’ve plugged in your Touch-pause button,
it over rides the recorder. If the recorder is not working,
put the machine in “play” mode and then tap
the remote button. “It works!” Then we suggest
you unplug the remote pause button and try the machine
once again. It should works. The Olympus won’t budge
without you giving it the OK by tapping the remote. At
this point, just record the copy as you would with any
tape recorder. You may find it easier to unplug the remote
pause button first, just to avoid confusion ‘til
you’re used to it.
Now,
record the copy
Record a few paragraphs of copy, starting with a countdown
to let the recorder adjust to the volume of your voice.
Rewind. Plug your listening source into the “earphone
out” jack, turn the volume “off” and
begin playback. Gradually increase the volume until you’re
comfortable. ALWAYS remove the earpiece when recording
to protect your hearing.
Hide
your secret
Some performers run the cord down their arm, securing
it with rubber bands, and tuck the pause button under
their ring. Others conceal it in the palm of their hand
where a “shrug” makes it disappear up the
sleeve and a gesture brings it back again. You might choose
to double-face tape it to the hem of your jacket where
your hand hangs naturally, in the perfect position to
tap the button when a pause is called for.
We’ve
got you covered!
Your “Touch/Pause” remote control pause system
is automatically covered for one full year against defects
in workmanship or materials under normal use. Olympus
covers the micro cassette recorder. Remember to keep your
receipt and Olympus recorder box and warranty in case
of repair. IMS only warrants the Touch-pause button. For
more information on use, trouble-shooting and advanced
performance tips, refer to the IMS Instructional Video.
